A favourite service station. The lake is lovely for stretching a leg during a long drive. Picnic tables. Great views. But the path around the lake desperately needs maintenance. Too muddy to walk all the way round without wellies. Take care when you arrive not to run over the many geese. Lots of parking. Usual outlets for food. Good toilets.

Great stop off point for us travelling from South lakeland to Glasgow. Coffee ☕️ and toilet stop plenty of places to eat and drink. Lovely clean services with a great little lake by it. Stretch your legs for a little walk around. ?‍♂️

This is a pretty good motorway service stop! Large and spacious so can (hopefully) entertain large groups easily. Choice of McDonald's, Cornish Bakery, Costa, Chinese noodles for food/drinks. And there's also a WHSmith here. Plus side is that if the weather is good, there's a lovely pond next door (outdoor seating is available too). Everything was clean and well looked after.

Over the years this service stop has been a priority for us when travelling for the dog walk around the lake and large grassy area. It’s a lovely little stop, however the last two long distance trips that we’ve stopped, the field is boggy and the ‘footpath’ was submerged under water. It’s a real shame that the grounds don’t appear to be maintained, bearing in mind that it’s the main appeal of this service stop over alternatives.

Main point for me - dog friendly outdoors and indoors. Beautiful lake and greenery too for dog walking . Shops, toilets and choice of food places to eat inside, dog permitted all over. Good prices in there. Good location, petrol station next door also.
