This is a great place to visit. We love the vibe. The friendly down to earth people. And very helpful staff . It’s always a great time here . We start out with the pontoon rental at 200 a half day for a trip out to see the manatees on our own terms . Recommend a very cool couple of days in advance for the best experience with these lovely animals. After spending a great afternoon 1/2 day with the manatee we returned and fuel was only 6 bucks for the entire trip . Highly recommend. Than off to the bar . Restaurant for a beer and a beautiful sunset. Beer is is like 3 bucks a draft that I found very reasonable. I highly recommended this place. It’s a wonderful spot for a great day . With the best people I’ve met in Florida.

MacRae's is convenient for a fishing trip. The room are good for a brief stay and afford guests the option of cooking or eating out. The hotel booking process was easy with nice people to help out. My issue was the manager of their store selling supplies. This guy needs to go back to customer service school. I found him to rude and downright mean. My decision was to move next door and give the Cracker my business. For reference the Florida Cracker rooms are nice, and they have better parking.

The restaurant itself is pretty cool, the food was amazing, the bartender was super cool and the people that cooked the food were amazing. Now, we sat down St. Patrick’s day and it was crowded, we got the only empty seat at 1:00 and the band was about to start playing when this lady, her mom and a 150lb lab came in and was looking for a table to sit at. It was super crowded on a holiday and in the middle of the day on this woman’s birthday and they kind of bullied us out of our seat. After we got there and ordered it was an hour before it came, this woman and her family and dog watched every bite we took and kept asking us if we were done because they wanted our seats. She gave us 5 minutes to eat and then hounded us unconditionally until we packed up and left. This place needs someone walking around and solving challenges. We were also out of ketchup with no one to ask for more. Parking is tight so take a motorcycle if possibly. I did enjoy it while I was there until this woman started in on us and if we went for the DJ she would’ve been out of luck. We’ll definitely eat there again but next time we may not be so nice to them. Ordered the shed burger and my wife had the Hells hate burger and we got bang bang shrimp. The side alone was $9 and there was about a dozen of very tiny but also very tasty shrimp. It was good but the shrimp made it not worth it. Cans of pop are $2.00 each and they give you a solo cup with ice, pop was flat in 2 minutes by the way. The burgers were excellent, hot and fresh. Definitely worth a second try in my opinion.

Didnt stay here but this is a great place on the water to get all you need before going on the water. Been here 100s of times and always go back. Always great entertainment if its not a good band its watching people load or unload boats. Lol

Best for pontoon rentals. Great food too! Had the blackened fish tacos, which were great. The live music on Saturday night made for a fun evening. Rented a pontoon boat for a couple days. Super helpful staff with fishing tips, etc. I thought the price was pretty reasonable, but they might charge more in peak season. I understand they are the only rental place around that will rent overnight - which was a plus since the vacation house we rented had a dock. Well stocked bait house. Everything a boating and fishing trip could possibly need.

Overall we had a great stay and on principle I would never try and hurt an entire business with a bad review, unless there was just a complete culture of dishonesty or something along those lines. But, lol, these rooms have the hardest most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on in my life. We had two rooms on Saturday night (2 days ago) and every adult who slept in those beds has had a sore back since then. I even prefer a "firm" mattress but this was unbearable. I barely slept and contemplated sleeping on the floor. Overall a great place but if we ever consider staying again I'll need a guarantee that the beds / mattresses have been upgraded.
