After looking online and getting more and more overwhelmed with choice I headed to The Real Computer Shop. Nick asked me quite a few questions on my usage and requirements before advising me of a few suitable options in my price range. It was set up and ready to go in two days!! And I loved that I could pop down for Jamie to tweak a few things for me when needed. The service and advice was second to none. Fantastic all round!

Brilliant service to help with a problem with my broadband set up. Really pleasant & capable young man, who took time to explain the 'tech' & showed me how to set up & use properly. He also checked & adjusted the settings on our tablets & mobile phones. All round excellent from a business with an exceptional reputation which I have known & used over many years. The staff and the shop are really good. They are patient and give good explanations of what is needed for computing. I was a bit nervous about changing my computer but Jamie, Steve and Dave in the Sheffield branch helped me transfer my work. The computers I have bought from them over a number years are excellent machines. It is great to have such a straightforward computer shop on our doorstep in Sheffield.
Also I appreciate their green approach to planting trees to offset and the way they pass used computers to charities who can use them.

I've used this shop several times for various laptop problems to be solved. While I did manage to persuade them to charge me £15 for 15 minutes on one occasion, they have declined to charge me on at least two occasions for their expertise. I could not have solved the issues without that expertise, so I had to resort to leaving a large box of chocolates at Christmas time! Happy New Year to the friendly staff.

Very friendly, very professional and they know their stuff. Got my upgrades done in 4 hours and then charged me £20 less than quoted because 'it was easier than they were expecting'. 10/10 would recommend

Had a crisis with my hard drive that stopped working. I unfortunately needed it fixed on the same day for work reasons. And I was helped so efficiently by Stephen who dismantled it and put it back together with a big adaptation I didn’t even know what possible. He was very quick and kind too. Much appreciated!

James Bond

My inkjet printer was out of action and trust me that’s not good. I did a google search for printer repair Sheffield and I found the Real Computer Shop. Now I remember sometime ago- 2008 to be precise, they did a really good job for me.

I gave them a call and a very nice man called Jamie picked up the phone. He asked what was wrong and he tried to diagnose the problem over the phone to save me money. Trust me he was super helpful, he suggested looking for paper jams, looking to see if the printer cartridge had been put in correctly. Then he suggested a printer clean which you can do via your printer setting on your PC. When that didn’t work I suggested I came in.

I made my way down there and I recognised the man who did my job all those years ago. His name is Nick. I introduced myself as James Bond. I said they’d done a job for me beforehand and he found me in the system. So my records were updated.

He said they charge £25 for a diagnostic but it may be cheaper just to buy a new printer. He had a look and then took it to Jamie in the back. Jamie mentioned that he’d spoken to someone today and I mentioned it was me.

Nick was super helpful and after some testing the printer was working perfectly. I asked him how much? He refused to take payment.

Now I couldn’t walk away without some kind of reward so I decided to buy a cartridge from them. Would you believe it was 1/3rd lower than the price I paid previously from other shops? This is first class tip top quality customer service.

So the usual questions.

Would I go there again? In a heartbeat.

Are they worth the money? After this level of service, I’d say good value at 10 times the price.

Would I recommend them to anyone else? Of course.

What would I advise the public? If you have a problem with your PC take it to see them. I promise you that like me, you’ll be shaken but not stirred.

I recently had my broken laptop diagnosed by one of the team here. Customer service was fantastic and i received a full breakdown as to why my laptop was broken
Staff are incredibly knowledgeable and have time to explain the issues face to face or over the phone. In particular, Nick was great explaining to me the options and even offered a data recovery for my personal data despite my laptop being fully broken.
